Best Three Football Bets to Place This Season

Best Three Football Bets to Place This Season

The domestic football season is finally back underway, which presents lots of betting opportunities for punters who enjoy a flutter on the action across Europe.

There are still a number of leagues and cups which have not begun yet, therefore here is a look at the three best bets you can place ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.

Manchester United to Win The FA Cup – 13/2

It is very rare that Jose Mourinho goes a full season without winning a trophy, however, he fired a blank in the 2017/18 campaign with Manchester United, therefore he will be desperate to get hands on one of the cup competitions. The Portuguese manager has only won the FA Cup once and that came in 2007 when in charge of Chelsea. What could help United this season in this tournament is that Manchester City and Liverpool are likely to be fighting for the title at the back end of the campaign as they appear to be the standout teams this season. If United are off the pace in the league, the FA Cup will be a much bigger priority to them than their rivals, so at 13/2 in the ante-post betting, they look a great value bet. If you do fancy United to go all the way in the league, they have Premier League outright odds of 14/1 at the time of writing.

Real Madrid to Win the Champions League – 8/1

Up until 2017, no team had retained the Champions League trophy, however, under the leadership of Zinedine Zidane, the Spanish giants were able to make history when they beat Juventus 4-1 in Cardiff. A year later and Real did it again to go three on the spin following their success over Liverpool in the final in Kiev. Can they do it again for the fourth consecutive year? Well, the answer is they are more than capable of doing and it looks like they have been underestimated by the bookmakers once again as they are 8/1 in the outright market. If they are to retain their crown this season, they will have to do it without Cristiano Ronaldo who has left for Juventus. However, as we saw in the final back in May, they have more than enough talent in their ranks to go all the way again. The added incentive for Real, too, is that the final is being held in Madrid at Atletico’s home ground, the Wanda Metropolitano.

Chelsea to Win the Europa League – 7/1

It is not always a great idea to bet on the Europa League until the open group stages of the Champions League are concluded as then you know which sides drop into the competition. However, this season Chelsea look an outstanding bet at 7/1 to go all the way; therefore, you should look to snap that price up right now. The Premier League side, with their new manager Maurizio Sarri, should be a class above the rest of the teams in their tournament and their biggest threat may come from Arsenal who you would back them to beat over the course of two legs or if they did face each other in the final.
