England Not Gambling With World Cup Squad Selection

England national team have just confirmed their 23-men-Squad for upcoming World Cup 2018 in Russia and some interesting decisions were made by manager, Gareth Southgate, leaving out some big names in the process.

Leaving out big names such as Joe Hart, Jack Wilshere or Wayne Rooney might be considered as a big gamble for many, but not according to Southgate himself who even think of his selection as an act of bravery.

Explaining more about his selection, especially regarding some young players, the tactician simply stated his beliefs that those chosen are simply the best at their position, regardless of age or international caps.

Moreover, the former England international defender also added that being comfortable with the ball also becomes another important reasoning for selection, that’s why he picked the players on his 23-men squad list.

Nevertheless, although admitting that many of his chosen players might not have the experience like what the Brazilian, Spain or Germany squad, but there’s plenty of excitement surrounding current Three Lion players.

Among several surprising call up is also Liverpool’s right back, Trent Alexander-Arnolt, who didn’t have any senior experience before, but somewhat praised in some of his performances with The Reds this season.
