Alonso Double Helped Chelsea Edged Tottenham

Premier League defending champion, Chelsea got themselves back on winning ways following their first week disappointment as this Sunday, Antonio Conte’s men defeated title rival, Tottenham Hotspurs at Wembley Stadium.

Losing their opening tie against Burnley, The Blues acknowledge they are under pressure to take precious results from their opponent, thus triggering them to put on an aggressive display since kick off.

Spurs themselves were also keen on entertaining their crowd, triggering an exciting battle between both sides as they are battling for that important three points.

It was the visitor though that got themselves ahead in that match when Marcos Alonso pulled off a spectacular free kick on 24 minutes, giving his team a precious lead which lasted until half time break.

The home side were pushing even harder to get that equalizing goal as they put their opponent under pressure, especially in the second half.

Spurs’ relentless efforts finally got rewarded when they snatched that massive equalizer eight minutes from time, thanks to an  own goal from Chelsea’s substitute striker, Michy Batshsuayi.

However, fortune was simply favoring the Blues as two minutes before the 90 minutes mark they regained their lead with another effort from Alonso, who smashed home a low shot from inside the penalty area.
