SHUTDOWN FULLCAST 7.25: LET’S FIX THE NFL

OH AND WEEK 4 IS HAPPENING TOO, GOOD POINT

I have two strong memories of my childhood as a Buccaneers fan:

  1. The old man who sat behind us during a game cursing at the team for playing poorly on the field and then cursing at the slightly delayed radio call of the team playing poorly on the headset he was wearing. In retrospect, I think the former was him being disgusted with the team as an entity and the latter was him being disgusted with specific players.
  2. Getting a creamsicle orange Alvin Harper jersey after he signed with the team. Alvin Harper spent a meaningless two years with the team and was released after playing 25 games, and my mom gave that jersey to Goodwill.

What I’m saying is, to me, the NFL has always been irredeemably broken. But fortunately, we fixed it in this week’s Fullcast, mostly by forcing Senators to play on the punt unit and making safeties worth 30 points and several other innovative ideas that we got from Twitter because we can’t come up with our own shit, come on now.

ALSO: You have nine days left to purchase a read on the podcast by donating to one of these fine charities. Do not miss the opportunity to have Jason read a birthday message to your significant other in Wright Thompson voice. You will regret it.
