Barcelona legend Xavi Hernandez has spoken about Neymar’s departure from Barcelona this summer.
Xavi who left Barcelona in the closing stages of his career, complained in the manner of Neymar’s departure.
“He didn’t give an explanation. He left Barça without giving a press conference or anything,” Xavi told L’Equipe.
But he explained that Barcelona was still strong, adding:“We have Messi, the best player in the world. Suárez, the best forward. Piqué, Iniesta, Busquets, the best in their positions”.
Barcelona received the €222 million from PSG some days ago and his transfer has been officially completed. His international transfer certificate has now been forwarded to the French league authorities and he is set to his debut today against Guingamp.
Xavi knows Barcelona must look forward beyond Neymar and has picked Nice star, Jean Michael Seri as a suitable replacement.
Speaking on the Ivorian midfielder, Xavi said: “He’s fantastic. He has what we call in Barcelona Barça DNA.”
Barcelona have already been linked with moves for the for the highly-rated youngster.
Nice president Jean-Pierre Rivere had hinted the press about interests from Barcelona and PSG in the Ivorian a while ago.
An offer from Roma for Seri has already been rejected. And Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked to making moves for him.
