Josep Bartomeu issues strong warning to PSG

Barcelona club president, Josep Maria Bartomeu is currently doing all he can to ensure Barcelona strengthen aheadof next season.

But with new recruits on the way, Barcelona are faced with the possibility of losing one of their best players, Neymar. There has been so much talk about PSG readying a sensational world-record fee for the 25-year-old.

And in Brazil they are so confident he would join PSG that they say he wouldn’t go back with his teammates to Barcelona.

However, Bartomeu has warned the Ligue 1 club that there is still a regulation in play called the UEFA Financial Fair Play rules. And it would be impossible to match Neymar’s release clause without breaking it.

In an interview with the Associated Press, Bartomeu said: “He has a contract for the coming four years and, of course, we count on him.”
“He’s part of our team. He’s part of this [attacking] trident [with Messi and Luis Suarez].

“These clauses are impossible to activate if you want to comply with Financial Fair Play.”

“If someone doesn’t want to comply, then of course it can be activated.”

A similar scenario played out last year with PSG heavily interesting and making a mouthwatering offer to the player. But he ended up penning a new deal with Barcelona until 2021 in October.

Neymar has scored 105 goals in 186 games for Barcelona since joining from Santos in 2013.
