Lionel Messi gave the fans nothing but the best in his last appearance in a Barcelona jersey for the season.

He was simply on fire as he single-handedly destroyed Alaves and handed Barcelona the cup.

But the game didn’t go the way Barcelona would have hoped as they took a big injury blow. With the right-back seriously depleted, Luis Enrique had opted for an emergency right-back in Javier Mascherano.

But his appearance in cup final was cut short after just 10 minutes. Mascherano had jumped to attack the ball and got hit in the head, and was eventually taken off the pitch in a stretcher.

It was an unfortunate end to his game and they are indications it could be his final game. The Argentine is rumored to be heading to be heading to Italy when the summer transfer window opens.

He was back on the field to join the team in their celebrations, but didn’t look too happy. And Messi once again showed his class as he took time out to have a chat with his teammate.

It was a really special moment and the fans would be hoping Messi tried to get him to stay at Barcelona.
