Jordi Alba has had his fair share of tough times this season under Luis Enrique. The left-back was briefly axed from the starting XI when Luis Enrique experimented with a 3-4-3 formation.

But he has since returned to the team and could start against Alaves on Saturday in the Copa del Rey final.

Alba has backed his team to win the cup and was quoted as saying: “Barcelona deserve to win this Copa del Rey.”

“It has been a difficult Copa run with difficult opponents, and it has been very tough.

“We had to comeback against Athletic Club, and the Real Sociedad and Atletico ties were very beautiful and challenging.

“Alaves have had very good season.”

“To win we have to have the ball and make them run to tire them out, create chances and play our best football, if not it will be difficult for us.”

Alba also thanked Luis Enrique as he leaves Barcelona adding: “This has been a sensational cycle thanks to you, mister.”
