Andres Iniesta was on hand to provide his much needed experience in a high profile game like the Clasico.

Iniesta had been managed carefully by Luis Enrique, regulating his game time to avoid injuries before the clasico. And having played for Barcelona all his life, Iniesta is no stranger to such games.

As expected, he put on the captain armband and led his team to glory. And in addition, he once again witnessed another great Lionel Messi performance.

But after all this years, you would think Iniesta isn’t surprised by Messi’s fantastic displays again. However, the midfielder said that was the great thing about Messi, as he never stops to surprise everyone.

He said:  “The great thing about Leo is that he never stops surprising you. After so many years he continues to be the difference. For us it is an honour and a blessing for the Club.”

And on the game, he added: “It was a match with a bit of everything, stages where we were in control, others where we were in too much of a hurry to attack.

“These games are difficult here and there were chances for both teams but in the end we got the winner in added time to leave very happy, it couldn’t be any other way. We have achieved our objective, we have a chance and we have to take it.”
