No NFL quarterback has faced the gauntlet of Pass Defenses over the last two seasons that Kirk Cousins has faced.
Kirk Cousins has faced the second hardest and fourth hardest gauntlet of Pass defenses in 2016 and 2017. All Cousins has done is shred those defenses. The more one looks at Cousins and his play over the last three seasons, the more he looks like an elite quarterback.
Wise to discuss Cousins' strengths & weaknesses, but keep in mind this context: he's faced the #1 most difficult schedule of pass defenses of any QB the past 2 yrs (2nd hardest in '16, 4th hardest in '17). Past 2 yrs combined:

With the Denver Broncos staring down the New York Jets for Cousins in free agency, it is becoming clear that John Elway wants to go into the NFL Draft without needing a quarterback. Remaking the roster will require talent and Cousins has the talent a team is looking for at the quarterback position.
While facing that gauntlet of premier NFL pass defenses, here’s what Cousins has done.
If the Broncos ultimately miss out on Cousins, then they will also potentially miss out on a lot of talent. Whether it’s drafting Saquon Barkley or trading back with a team like the Buffalo Bills for a ransom of draft picks, the Broncos lose if they are forced to draft another rookie quarterback in the first round.
