NFL Dawgs Get A Super Stage

Four Dawgs Bound for Super Bowl in Atlanta

In theory, this is a college-football focused site, especially for those adorning the red and black.

But there’s a certain point of pride when any one of the Dawgs goes on to bigger things at the next level. And in the NFL, there is no bigger stage than the Super Bowl. The more a team has its products playing in it, the easier it gets to sell a program (spoiler alert: Kirby Smart is good at it).

But recruiting edges are always welcomed, and Georgia has a pretty big one this week and next, especially when it comes to the guys at Dell McGee is coaching up.

Following Sunday night, the matchup for the Super Bowl is set with the Rams and Patriots Set to tangle in Atlanta.

Regrettably, Pepsi is invading the city via its ad contract, making it the most notable infiltration by a foreign invader since Sherman. And with apologies to Ben Watson, the Saints in town for the big game would have heaped more salt in the wound....making it the latest chapter in sports misery in the ATL.

But with the Rams and Patriots set to meet, it means at least one Georgia running back will hoist the Lombardi Trophy - Todd Gurley or Sony Michel.

They won’t be the only ex-Bulldogs: David Andrews lines up at center for New England and Ramik Wilson has contributed on defense for the Rams. Isaiah Wynn is also on the Patriots roster but has been on injured reserve most of the season.

With two weeks of buildup, many a storyline will be poured over leading up to the Super Bowl. The fact that two of them will be among the greatest backs in Georgia history will be two weeks of making it an even more exciting time to be a Bulldog.
