Mohamed Salah admits Jurgen Klopp deserves credit for allowing the Liverpool FC forward to flourish in the Reds team.

The Egypt international moved to Liverpool FC in a £39m deal from Serie A giants AS Roma in the summer transfer window.

Salah has scored 22 goals in 27 games in the Premier League following his strike in a 2-0 win at Southampton earlier this month.

The 25-year-old became the 13th player to score 30 goals in a season for Liverpool FC following his effort in a 5-0 win at Porto in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash last week.

Only Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has scored more goals than Salah in Europe’s top five leagues to highlight the African forward’s incredible start to his Reds career.

Salah has credited Klopp with helping to bring out the summer signing’s prolific form for the Reds.

“With the boss here, I play a little bit closer to the goal, more so than at any other club or more than any of my other coaches have asked me to,” Salah told Liverpool’s matchday programme.

“So I am always in front of the goal to give me the opportunity to score. The manager is always telling me to stay close to the goal in training.

“I don’t want to say too much because we still have a long way to go in the season and I don’t want to give too much away. But yes, it’s something we have worked on in the training sessions.”

Salah struggled during an eight-month spell at Chelsea FC in 2014 following his move to Stamford Bridge from Swiss side Basel in an £11m deal.

The African forward spent three seasons in Serie A with Fiorentina and then AS Roma.

Liverpool FC will welcome West Ham United at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
