Antonio Conte not happy with Chelsea board about failed transfer – report

Antonio Conte was not happy about Chelsea’s efforts to sign Fernando Llorente from Swansea City in the summer transfer window, according to reports in the British media.

The Times is reporting that Conte was not at all pleased after Chelsea made only a £5m bid to try and sign Llorente from Swansea in the summer.

The striker eventually ended up signing for Tottenham Hotspur on Transfer deadline day in a deal believed to be worth around £11.5m.

The same report claims that Conte believes that Chelsea were not serious about signing Llorente following their low bid for the forward.

The story also claims that Llorente was a long-term transfer target for Chelsea, after Conte apparently asked the Blues to sign the Spanish forward in the January transfer window earlier this year.

Chelsea ended up signing six new players in the summer transfer window and brought in Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid as one of the main replacements for Diego Costa, who ended up returning to Atletico Madrid last month.

Chelsea are currently gearing up for their Premier League trip to Crystal Palace next weekend as they bid to get back to winning ways following the disappointment of their 1-0 loss to Manchester City last weekend.
