Martin Keown has claimed that Chelsea will be able to play with freedom against Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday evening.

The Blues won the Premier League title with two games to spare after Michy Batshuayi scored a winner in a 1-0 victory over West Brom at the Hawthorns Stadium earlier in May.

Chelsea won 30 games in their title-winning season which is more than any other Premier League champion since the division’s inception in 1992.

Conte’s side finished the 2016-17 campaign with a 5-1 win against Sunderland to warm up for the FA Cup final.

Arsenal have won the FA Cup twice in the past three seasons and Arsene Wenger is bidding to become the competition’s most-successful manager.

Writing in his Daily Mail column about the FA Cup final on Saturday evening, former Arsenal defender Keown explained why Chelsea have a slight advantage ahead of the Wembley showpiece.

“You have completed one half of the journey by winning the league and the Cup is a bonus,” Keown said.

“Of course Chelsea will be desperate to win the Cup — not many teams win the Double — but with the Premier League in the bag it allows you to play with more freedom.”

Arsenal are looking to win the competition for the third time in four seasons.
