I have always been disappointed with some of those who attend Carolina Basketball games. First, there are those who make so much money that they get to sit in the privileged sections around the court while most of the students are getting nosebleeds above. They don't have to cheer, stand up, chant, or anything. That would be beneath them. As far as I am concerned, what should be beneath them is a large Student only section that surrounds the court. That way they won't have to move a muscle to support the team. They can let the students do it for them. And while I'm on the subject of the Fat Ass Seats I might add that they leave early too. I've got an idea for you Fat Ass Slouches: why not use that money to pay someone else to watch the games for you. You wouldn't even have to be bothered with the game at all and we might get an upgrade in fan quality. Second, I'm sick and tired of the "sit on your hands" crowd. If you can't stand up for an entire half of basketball (wow what a feat of athleticism that would be for you overfed wine and cheesers) then stay home, watch the game on t.v., and then you won't have to worry about a trip to the hospital because you have overdone it at the game. The loss to Miami at home was embarrassing not because of the young team's mistakes but for the absolute lack of enthusiasm from the crowd. It was so obvious that Eric Montross said on radio afterward that as great as the Dean Dome crowd is (that's Eric being generous, kind, and polite) he wished they would have been louder. No shit! Even the students were lazy that game. I was asked to sit down by several fans. I don't sit down for Carolina basketball. If you don't like it then change the seating at the Dean Dome. But that's another post. On your feet or on your knees! And the next time I hear some old fart yell "down in front" I'm going to yell: "Up in Back!" Some of you should just simply stay home and watch the game there or drag your apathetic butts to the wheelchair section.
