Gotta love social media - thank you Jared Dubin (at least I think it was Jared Dubin) for introducing #hiphopcoaches to Twitter this afternoon with "Slick Rick Adelman". The "Hip Hop Coach" moniker came after the hiring of Charlie Strong at the University of Texas and a tweet Dallas Morning News which said "Why he’s not a hip-hop coach; 10 things you might not know about new Texas Longhorns coach Charlie Strong." This originally came from a statement made my Lou Holtz. We can debate this term, or we can have a good laugh. You can follow Dubin on Twitter (@JADubin5). He's a sportswriter/blogger for sites like Grantland, Bleacher Report, Bloomberg Sports, and SB Nation.
So, after seeing this hashtag, I came up with a few of my own #hiphopcoaches:
- Jason Kidd Cudi
- Lawrence Frank Ocean
- Lil Wayne Gretzky
- B.o.B. Stoops
- Will.I.Muschamp
- Cam Cam'Ron
- Tom H to the Izzo
- Steve Mariucci Mane
- "I'm Sorry" Mark Jackson
- Mike D'Antoni Yayo
- Kaci and JoePa
- Keith Sweat Smart
- Method Mangini
- Project Pat Riley
- Macklemore and Marvin Lewis
