T.M Dilshan Fined For Excessive Appealing

T.M Dilshan has been found guilty of breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during the ongoing second Test against England in Colombo and fined ten percent of his match fee.

T.M Dilshan pleaded guilty to being in breach of clause 2.1.5 which covers "excessive Appealing and Excessive shall include a) repeated appeal of the same decision/appeal and b) celebrating a dismissal before the decision has been given.

T.M Dilshan was reported to match referee Javagal Srinath after he ran towards the striker's end celebrating a dismissal before turning round and appealing repeatedly during the 88th over of England's innings of 460.

"Dilshan accepted the charge and the penalty imposed without qualms and so there was no need for a formal hearing," Srinath confirmed.
