Notes:

Today was not a good day for the NY pitchers. Wilson couldn't make it out of the third, Villone was tagged for two runs, and Proctor blew the lead, picking up his second loss of the season. The Yankees gladly welcome the All Star break which will give their over-used pitchers a chance to rest. But New York still has to decide what to do with the number 5 spot, Chacon doesn't work and Wilson is just as bad. The Yanks will probably try to go out and get someone ( Pineiro? Vargas? Hernandez?) during this four-day off period.

Jason Giambi's grand slam seemed to seal the victory for the Yankees but their pitching just couldn't hold up. Bernie Williams and Derek Jeter each had two hits.
