-NHL Finals- It's all over and Lord Stanley has found a new home, or perhaps an old home he hasn't visited since 1961. That was the last time the Chicago Blackhawks took home the cup. The Blackhawks outlasted the late charge by the Flyers in game 6 of the finals Wednesday night. The game ended in a goal scored by Patrick Kane 4 minutes into the overtime period. It was one of the most bizzare endings to a hockey game i've ever witnessed. Kane sneaked the puck past Michael Layton so fast that it got stuck in the netting. Kane knew immediately that he had just scored the winning goal to lift Chicago to the top of the league, but he was the only one. It took around 10 seconds for the commentator to anounce a goal.The celebration started about 15 seconds after the goal was scored. The play went under review and it was official about 2 minutes later. Chicago really did look great throughout the whole playoffs. Chicago was one of the few teams that showed consitinsy in their play which led to the ultimate prize. The night ended with Jonathan Toews, the captain of the hawks, winning the playoff mvp award. Its going to be a long summer for the flyers after giving up a somewhat akward goal to lose their 6th consecutive finals appearence. Ya, thats what i said. 6. This season belongs to Chicago and they sure deserved it.

-NBA Finals- The Nba finals are now tied 2-2 after the Boston Celtics won Thursday night 96-89. Big Baby Glen Davis and Nate Robinson led the Celtics in a victory. There has never been an Nba finals quite like this, The bench of the Lakers led the team to victory Tuesday night as well as the Celtics bench leading the way Thursday. " This is shaping up to be one hell of a series", said Magic Johnson in the post game show. The Lakers play one more game in Boston Sunday before heading back to L.A to close out the series.

Game 4
Lakers 89 Celtics 96 F
-Byant 33 pts-L.A.
- Pierce 19 pts-Bos.
* Series tied 2-2

- On Tuesday reports came about that Tom Izzo of the Michigan State Spartans had been offered a job to coach the Cleveland Cavaliers. Izzo and the Spartans
coaching staff said Izzo was never directly contacted and Izzo made a statement saying that he didn't want to coach in the Nba until he wins another Ncaa championship. Things have certainly changed. Izzo talked to his team Thursday about possibly taking the coaching job. " I have a lot to think about", said Izzo. Izzo never made any comments or statements that led to his upcoming decision. Izzo could be named the coach of the Cavs as soon as Monday if thats what he decides to do. Rely on theROOTofsports to keep you updated.
- Avery Johnson, formal coach of the Dallas Mavericks and formal Nba analyst has signed an agreement to coach the New Jersey Nets. Avery Johnson's Nba record as a coach is 194-70.

College Football News-
The University of Southern California has been punished with a two year bowl ban. Yes, that means no Championships, bowl games, bowl talk, nothing for Usc for the next 2 years. The team has also had many wins vacated from Reggie Bush's final season after many violations in all team sports including Men's basketball and Women's tennis program. Many other penalties have been issued. The Ncaa is determining weather to vacate Reggie Bush's Heisman trophy and the Usc football championship season all together. If they do vacate the championship, there will be no championship team for that season.
-Colorado and Nebraska are on the move. The two Big-12 schools have started the expansion that is expected to get bigger and basically put an end to the Big-12. Colorado has officially signed to join the Pac-10 as Nebraska is very close to making a deal with the Big-ten.
- Jeremiah Masoli, an early heisman candidate last season, is done. Masoli led the somewhat surprising Oregon Ducks out of an early season incident and surprised the nation when he showed his accuracy and amazing power and running ability. Still young in his college career he led his team to the Rose Bowl. The Ducks lost the Rose bowl, but many fans were immediately looking forward to the upcoming seasons with the rising star at QB. Masoli was charged with Burglary in the spring, later being kicked off of the team for the entire 2010 season. When Oregon started it's spring football drills, Masoli practiced with the team and already set his sights for his return season in 2011. Masoli was dismissed from the team Monday after being cited with possession of marijuana. Masoli had an opportunity to bring something special to this organization and he definitely had the talent. He's done, he will most likely never play the game again.
