Inter have completed the signing of Argentine 17-year-old Facundo Colidio from Boca Juniors, signing a three-year contract in a deal worth a reported £5.4m.

Colidio was part of the youth ranks at Boca Juniors in Argentina and has emerged as a bright youth prospect, seen as one of their most promising players.

Inter had been monitoring the player’s progress throughout the summer.

The club statement read:

“FC Internazionale Milano can announce that international clearance has been received for the permanent transfer of the 17-year-old Facundo Colidio.

“The Argentine forward has signed a three-year contract with the Nerazzurri and joined Stefano Vecchi’s Primavera side.”

The forward has signed a three-year contract and has already begun training with Inter.

Inter’s transfer policy has changed since Suning took over, as the club has quietly being bringing in some of the best young talent in the world into the Academy.

Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio was asked on Tuesday if he does not regret missing out on signing 16-year-old Pietro Pellegri from Genoa this summer and his response was telling:

Did we try to sign Pellegri over the last months? Well, he’s a great player, but look at the goals that [Jens] Odgaard, [Andrea] Pinamonti and [Edouardo] Vergani have been scoring [for the youth team],” he said.

“Karamoh is working well and is available. He will be very helpful to our team.”

Odgaard arrived from Danish side Lyngby this summer and Karamoh joined from Caen. Combine these signings with home grown talent like Vergani and Pinamonti and it is easy to see why this might be the most talent in the academy in a generation.
