Oregon Men's Basketball signs elite recruit C.J. Walker

Oregon Head Coach Dana Altman continues to build a powerhouse program in the Pac-12, as the Ducks announced that five-star Recruit C.J. Walker of Sanford, Florida, has signed a National Letter of Intent with the school.

"We are really fortunate to add C.J. to this class," said Altman. "He is a highly skilled player from a great basketball family. Coach Tony Stubblefield developed a strong relationship with C.J. and his family and we are really excited to have them join our program."

The Ducks’s 2019 recruiting class now ranks ninth nationally according to Rivals.com. This is the fourth straight top-12 recruiting class for coach Altman and the staff, and the program’s second-straight top-10 class.

The 6'8" Walker, played at Oak Ridge High School and received a scout grade of 92 according to espn.com, as he ranked 19th in ESPN’s top 100 for the 2019 recruiting class.

Rivals also listed Walker as a five-star and had him ranked 24th nationally, while 247Sports had him as the No. 30 player overall.

Walker averaged 15.9 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks over 16 games during the Nike EYBL circuit.  He led his Orlando Christian Prep to back-to-back state titles in his sophomore and junior seasons before transferring to his current school.

Walker will join a class that consists of 6'6" Chris Duarte, one of the top junior college transfers in the nation; 6'11" Isaac Johnson, a four-star recruit who will make a two-year Mormon mission before joining the team for the 2021-2022 season; and 6'8" Chandler Lawson, a four-star recruit ranked 58th in ESPN’s top 100.
