France National Squad

The France National Football team also know as  Équipe de France de football represents France in international football. The dress colors for France are Blue, Red and White and Coq Gaulois (Gallic Rooster) is its symbol. France are colloquially known as Les Bleus (The Blues).

The most capped player in the history of France is Lilian Thuram and the player with the most goals for France is Thierry Henry.

The only national teams that have won the three most important men’s titles recognized by FIFA, the World Cup, the Confederations Cup, and the Olympic tournament are France, Germany, Brazil and Argentina.

The first ever World Cup goal for France and the first goal in World Cup history was scored by Lucien Laurent in 1930, where they defeated Mexico by 4-1.

France won the World Cup in 1998 against Brazil where Zinedine Zidane’s brace helped France to defeat Brazil by 3-0. Led by FIFA World Player of the Year Zidane, France defeated Italy 2–1 in the final of Euro 2000, where David Trezeguet scored the golden goal in extra time. The victory gave the team the distinction of being the first national team to hold both the World Cup and Euro titles since West Germany did so in 1974, and it was also the first time that a reigning World Cup winner went on to capture the Euro.

Didier Deschamps who captained the French team that won both the 1998 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2000, is now the current head coach for France National Team.
