Manchester United continue their scintillating form under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as they got the better of Tottenham Hotspur at the Wembley
Marcus Rashford’s goal on the cusp of half time was what separated the two sides on the night. Paul Pogba produced a sensational pass to find the 21 years old England international who then brilliantly slotted the ball past Hugo Lloris. With the victory, Solskjaer made history as he became the first man in Man United’s decorated history to win his first 6 games as a manager. The victory also bolstered United’s chances of a top-four finish as they moved on to 41 points (level with Arsenal), only 6 behind Chelsea who occupies the 4th spot.
Manchester United’s record signing Paul Pogba, who looked like a shadow of his self under Mourinho, has arguably been their best player under Solskjaer so far. Former Manchester United star Bryan Robson revealed what has changed for the Frenchman,
“Paul Pogba’s resurgence shows that he always needed an arm around him.
“Conflict is never a good backdrop at any football club and it certainly wasn’t working for Paul under Jose Mourinho. Indeed, a conflict wasn’t working for any of the players at Manchester United.
“Paul had a large slice of it, but he wasn’t alone in taking the brunt and it was inevitable that the managerial change was made.
“Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knew Paul from working as United’s reserve-team coach years ago and quickly identified that, for all the front and bravado, if you like, Paul needed an arm around him and reassurance that he was still valued.
“As a result, Paul is looking like the world-class player we thought we’d signed from Juventus, and Manchester United are a better team.
His touch and pass for Marcus Rashford’s winner against Tottenham was the piece of skill that made the difference.
“Don’t get me wrong, a world-class goalkeeping performance from David de Gea was the bedrock and Rashford’s finish was excellent, but that special moment from Pogba won the game. In the top games, top players make the difference.”

Bryan Robson certainly makes a valid point as apart from his performances, Pogba’s attitude and body language also look much better.
