Eden Hazard failed to inspire Chelsea to another victory and the Blues have given away the top spot to Liverpool, who registered a thumping victory against Southampton.
Chelsea defender César Azpilicueta thinks that Hazard does not need to score goals as Ronaldo and Messi do to become the best. He said, “I know Eden, we came here together and I played against him in France so I have seen him for a long time but, yes, I’m sure he can be the best. He has that quality of eliminating defenders. It’s amazing. But this season he is adding goals and assists. Sometimes he was playing very good but maybe not selfish; he always gives passes to team-mates.”

“Messi, Cristiano, they score 50 goals a year and that is very difficult in England. But from his point of view, if he’s more aggressive in the box by scoring goals and making assists, he will be at the top of his game. In normal play, he can create chances. It looks very easy.”

It has been a few years since Eden Hazard has started to deliver world-class performances for Chelsea on a regular basis. While players like Mohamed Salah outshined him last season, it remains to be seen if they could perform consistently as Hazard does. There is no doubt Premier League, in many ways, is tougher than the Serie A or the La Liga. Hazard does not need to score goals to be the best.
