Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool is prepared to step up their offer massively in order to recruit AS Roma’s Alisson Becker by offering a record transfer fee for a goalkeeper.
The Reds are desperate to land a world-class keeper in between the sticks in order to boost their title challenge next season. Having identified Alisson as their prime target, Liverpool is now willing to break the bank to secure his services amid interest from the Los Blancos. After a rather abysmal season so far, Madrid will be hoping to add new faces to their squad, even if it means spending big in the summer.
According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, Real Madrid is eyeing a move for the Brazilian Alisson after David De Gea and Thibaut Courtois may prove to be too expensive in the next few transfer windows. The 25-year-old shot-stopper has impressed heavily for AS Roma as the Italian side made their way to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Loris Karius has been chosen as Klopp’s number one keeper, but the German hasn’t been totally convinced by the former Mainz’ star. Simon Mignolet has been the 2nd choice keeper after failing to capitalize on any given opportunities and therefore Liverpool is keen on luring Alisson to Anfield in the summer to strengthen their last line of defense.
Will Liverpool Really Pay This Fee?
After signing the world’s most expensive center-back in Virgil Van Dijk, Liveisol is ready to splash out another world record fee of €80 million(£70.5 million) to sign the highly impressive goalkeeper. This would make Alisson the most expensive goalkeeper in the history of transfers, but Klopp recently said, “When the player is the right player it is not important how expensive he was. He needs to fit in the team, that’s why we paid the price for Virgil [Van Dijk]. This club will do what we have to do, the owners are ready for that.”
The main idea for Liverpool is to outdo Real Madrid in a transfer bid even before they can prepare one. If the Reds manage to convince Roma to sell Alisson before the season ends, the English giants could be serious title contenders for next year.

In this market, there is a lot of inflation which has caused such a price rise in the players’ transfers. However, Alisson looks solid with his handling and with his feet, he could definitely improve Liverpool’s leaky defense. Although I feel, Madrid too will make AS Roma a huge bid in order to bring Alisson to the Santiago Bernabeu.
