Top Leaders who left a legacy at Manchester United

Manchester United is a club defined by defiance that urged the unity into penetrating a perch. The club has always been blessed by the greatness that had the belief to untie the bondage and create a bandage for the bestowed. The Accordion of Manchester United has always orchestrated a theatre that had the cast of distinct Leaders ready to fulfil dreams in the face of reality, therefore it hurts to see the current crop displaying robotic reactions on the field. Let us reflect on those impactful leaders who left a legacy with their limitless contributions to Manchester United.

Eric Cantona

We’ll drink a drink a drink

To Eric the King the King

He’s the leader of our football team

He’s the greatest centre-forward the World has ever seen.

King Cantona will always be a fortitude figure at Old Trafford for bringing the arrogance that personalized self-confidence instilling self-belief to the side. He is once in a generation performer solely because he passed his persona on to his teammates with his distinguished demeanour accompanied by prolific performances on the field instead of imposing his ideas or powering his perception in the dressing rooms, that my friend is truly called Inspiration.

Colossal Cantona was a very important figure in shaping up the flight of Fergie’s Fledglings. Gary Neville stated while watching and remembering the Utd vs City clash during the 93-94 campaign in the Gary Neville soccer box mini show which is aired on Sky Sports that when United trailed City by 2 goals, as soon as Cantona got a chance to get one on one with the goalkeeper, all of us were convinced that he was going to score come what may, such was his aura and effect on that team that transformed the group of individuals around him into illustrious global entities. Eric’s Entitlement empowered United into becoming Elite.

Gary Neville

Gary Neville is a red

Is a red

Is a red

Gary Neville is a red

He hates Scousers.

Gary Neville is well and truly a Red emerging from the academy with his accomplished teammates to start a Revolution that would reinstate the English Football on the European scene. Gary had the grit to complement the grace of that triumphant team. His governance and ability to analyze an opponent helped him read situations effectively, thus reacting quickly. He was the steel on that side which Sir Alex acknowledged by handing him the responsibility which repacked and replenished him withstand the testing times.

Neville was both nice and nasty often working his psychology to achieve parity in a contest. His actions on and off the field depicted a true leader whose loyalty lies in the mortar of Manchester. The infamous ignorance of Peter Schmeichel in the clash against City in 2002-03 campaign demonstrated his disregard for the rivals even if they held an old mentor in their ranks. Gary’s rise was a perfect example of how a mental machine can overcome his shortcomings with scientific shape and design to gain solitude.

Nemanja Vidic

Nemanja Woah

Nemanja Woah

He comes from Serbia

He’ll f***ing murder ye.

Nemanja Vidic was the leader of the last great Manchester United team under Sir Alex Ferguson

Vidic viciousness was visible in his eyes that used to violate the wind of an approaching attacker. His arrival at United brought hardware to the heaven which helped bring back consistency to the club. Edwin Vander Sar holds the record for the longest consecutive run without conceding a goal (14 games, 1311 minutes) but the actual credit goes to the compact defence ahead of him of which Vidic was a clear leader overpowering an adventure to initiate an Accenture.

Vidic freed up Ferdinand who finally settled down overcoming his physical and mental issues by adopting a relaxed approach to the game. The introduction of Nemanja Vidic brought titles back to Manchester United as the flair was cemented by firmness at Old Trafford.

Roy Keane

Oh Keano’s  f***in’ magic

He wears a magic hat

And when he saw Old Trafford

He said I fancy that

He didn’t sign for Arsenal

Or Blackburn coz they’re s*ite

He signed for Manchester United

Coz they’re f***ing dynamite.

Roy was a rare species that was relentless to endure a rigorous exercise and render reminiscence hailing a champion side, that long face with a stern expression and a slobbish attitude strangled to intimidate the engineer of an advancing enterprise. Roy was a refreshing face to an ageing midfield when he arrived at Old Trafford from Nottingham Forest, he had an instant impact on the team winning the double and cementing his place in the side.

Keane had a mean streak that could sense mediocrity in an opponent to malign him into a mistake. His barrage of indecent yet industrious verbiage on the rivals and his own teammates was a learning curve for that generation which started to adopt stability and taxation with skills and technique. Roy was a leader who created a manufactured menace in a dressing to transfer his thought process displaying that darkness can be used as a deviation to standardize the light at the end of the tunnel.

Author’s Take

Ever since the start of the Premier League era, United have been lucky to have leaders with artillery that could explode and implode to create an earnest environment around them. Sir Alex and the scouting network have to be credited who were looking for characters rather than poster boys at that time. The current era is in the camouflage of hypocrisy where players are paralyzed by the restrictive rules sidelining the soul of a game.
