More Bad News For Manchester City

The Manchester side had recently made it to the second position in the English Premier League standings. Over the season there had been a lot of conversation around the Manchester Blues. Many of their players have been injured while some have just played some disappointing football.

This brought questions to Pep Guardiola’s leadership. However, after recovering from poor form, the team has finally gained some momentum. The 2nd to 6th positions are really tight in the Premier League, with just 4 points between them. Pep was just relieved to be back in the winning ways before his team has been found violating FA’s doping regulations.

FA imposed a Fine of £35,000 on Manchester City under FA’s Regulation 14(d). However, the fine looks meagre for an offence which appears so grave. The fine appears to be a joke, denoting such a small sum. Some players spend more on haircuts in a year as compared to the amount of this fine.

If FA does want teams to take its laws seriously, especially the doping rules, it should consider imposing heavier penalties. If it continues to levy such small fines, then FA itself will become a joke. Teams would be happy to pay the small fine, rather than proving their innocence. The offences would become more casual and their frequencies would go up.

FA could give a warning to clubs, but they should be strict with the penalty. For instance, Barcelona and Real Madrid were given a warning for signing underage players. However, if any club is found guilty of the same, they would receive transfer bans. The entire club wouldn’t be able to sign players for entire transfer windows.

Such kind of strictness is required by the FA. This would boost more discipline by the English teams. The English teams are some of the most ill-behaved teams, and we have probably found the reason for it.
