Ozil Isn’t Happy: Dr. Erkut Sogut

The German midfielder is one of the most gifted players in the current generation. He is one playmaker everyone would like in their team. Ozil is so skilful with the ball, that any he can make any striker score. He sets up the ball beautifully, requiring the striker to just tap the ball in.

Ever since his transfer to Arsenal from Real Madrid he has been leading the charts for the most assists in a single season. Ozil along with Sanchez are attributed for every Arsenal win. The team is so much dependent on the German that every time they falter, he is blamed for the loss. Ozil’s manager, Dr Erkut Sogut, claims that Ozil is frustrated for exactly that.

In their latest outing to Munich, the Gunners were shamed by the German champions. Bayern humiliated the London side to a 5-1 defeat. The Gunners had equalised to 1-1 in the first before the Germans took the game away. Thiago scored 2 goals and gave 1 assist to Thomas Muller.

Season after season, Arsenal stay in the race for the title before they settle for a Champions League spot. Since Ozil has joined Arsenal, he inconsistently has been blamed for Arsenal’s losses.

He has been blamed for the loss to Bayern as well. While speaking to BBC Sport, Sogut said “Criticism is normal if a player plays badly, But Mesut feels people are not focusing on his performance; they are using him as a scapegoat for the team after bad results. Bayern had 74% possession. How can someone in the No.10 position create chances if you don’t have the ball?”

Ozil has been the most consistent player for Arsenal and his national side Germany. He might want to leave the London side if he is continued to criticised. Clubs would scramble for him if they knew he was available.
