Fantasy Premier League – GW6 Review

West Ham 2-3 Spurs

The popular Spurs trio of Alli, Eriksen and Kane all delivered attacking returns against West Ham. Owners of Spurs defenders were left frustrated with no clean sheet. Serge Aurier was sent off on his full debut in the Premier League paving the way for Trippier to get another run in the team.

Chicharito got himself on the scoresheet for the first time since GW2 and with a nice run of fixtures coming up, he’s one to watch. Michail Antonio picked up another injury and was replaced after just 27 minutes while Cresswell caught the eye again getting forward from left back and taking set pieces.

Goalscorers: Kouyate, Chicharito, Kane (2), Eriksen

Assists: Fonte, Masuaku, Alli (2)

Yellow Cards: Reid, Ayew, Carroll, Chicharito, Llorente, Dier

Red Card: Aurier

Burnley 0-0 Huddersfield

The Clarets are always good for a clean sheet at Turf Moor and they proved it again against Huddersfield. Nick Pope looks comfortable in goal while Stephen Ward looks the pick of the Burnley defenders. Huddersfield are struggling to score goals but defensively they still look good from a fantasy perspective, Schindler in particular.

Yellow Cards: Tarkowski, Arfield, Cork, van La Parra, Sabiri

Everton 2-1 Bournemouth

Going into GW6, Oumar Niasse wasn’t even listed in Fantasy Premier League! Very few managers included him in their Sportito XI and he came off the bench to score a brace to win the three points for Everton. Tom Davies assisted both goals and he could be one to keep an eye on over the next few weeks.

Bournemouth’s early season struggles continue but Josh King did get his first goal of the season having chipped in with 16 during the last campaign. Charlie Daniels got himself an assist and he’s always worth considering for your fantasy team with his attacking attributes.

Goalscorers: Niasse (2), King

Assists: Davies (2), Daniels

Yellow Cards: Schneiderlin, Davies, Niasse, Stanislas

Man City 5-0 Crystal Palace

City can’t stop scoring goals. They’ve won their last three league games on an aggregate score of 16-0. The same names are popping up every week, Aguero, Sane, Silva and Sterling. Gabriel Jesus was given a rest against Palace and they still put five past Wayne Hennessey! Defensively they’re looking good as well with 4 clean sheets in 6.

We’re only 6 games in and already Palace look destined for relegation. Will they score a goal before Christmas? Loftus-Cheek looked bright again but it’s just not happening for them at the moment.

Goalscorers: Sterling (2), Delph, Aguero, Sane

Assists: D.Silva (2), Sane (2), Aguero

Yellow Cards: Sane, Danilo, Mendy, Schlupp

Southampton 0-1 Man United

United registered their 5th clean sheet in 6 games. They’ve been superb defensively this season with Matic protecting the back four. They look nailed on to be the best defensive team in the league this season. You have to consider the likes of David De Gea and Phil Jones when picking your Sportito XI for GW7. You’re almost guaranteed the clean sheet points against a Palace side who are yet to score. Lukaku scored the winner, his 6th goal in 6 Premier League matches. It will take a brave manager to go without him this weekend.

Southampton do have a nice run of fixtures coming up but it might be worth investing in their defence rather than their attack. Van Dijk is likely to start soon, probably against Stoke in GW7.

Goalscorer: Lukaku

Yellow Cards: Long, Valencia, Young, Herrera, Lukaku

Stoke 0-4 Chelsea

Alvaro Morata was the star of the show in this one, going home with the match ball following his hat trick. Cesar Azpilicueta is his partner in crime this season, laying on four assists for him from defence! Gary Cahill found himself on the bench while Marcos Alonso was substituted before the sixty minute mark to the frustration of his FPL owners. Hazard again made an appearance from the bench but he’s surely going to start against City in GW7.

Goalscorers: Morata (3), Pedro

Assists: Azpilicueta (2), Bakayoko

Yellow Cards: Shaqiri, Crouch, Alonso, Kante

Swansea 1-2 Watford

Richarlison finally got the goal that his stats have suggested he would in recent weeks, securing all three points for Watford with a late winner while Andre Gray got off the mark for the season. Kiko Femenia returned to the starting XI after injury and he looks a good defensive option for our fantasy teams.

Paul Clement will be disappointed the Swans got nothing from this game. Renato Sanches only managed 5 minutes from the bench as he gets to grips with the Premier League while Tammy Abraham also started on the bench but came on at half time to score in the 2nd half. Wilfried Bony got 84 minutes under his belt and provided the assist for Abraham. It might be time to start looking at the Ivorian with a decent run of fixtures ahead.

Goalscorers: Abraham, Gray, Richarlison

Assists: Bony, Deeney, Carrillo

Yellow Cards: Bony, Capoue, Doucoure, Richarlison

Leicester 2-3 Liverpool

Coutinho got the Kop back on his side with a superb free kick and an assist for Salah’s goal. Liverpool made hard work of their victory as they often do with poor defending. Firmino disappointed his owners with a third consecutive blank which will see him transferred out by many this week. Sadio Mane will return after suspension for the GW7 clash against Newcastle.

Vardy scored his 5th goal of the season but he also missed a crucial penalty, blasting it down the middle. Will Mahrez take over spot kick duties? Harry Maguire got his 2nd assist of the season and he remains an excellent defensive option with good fixtures coming up for the Foxes.

Goalscorers: Vardy, Okazaki, Henderson, Coutinho, Salah

Assists: Maguire, Gray, Moreno, Coutinho, Sturridge

Penalty Saved: Mignolet

Penalty Missed: Vardy

Yellow Cards: Albrighton, Ndidi, Vardy, Mignolet, Matip, Lovren

Brighton 1-0 Newcastle

Tomer Hemed scored his 2nd goal in three matches for the Seagulls but he could be facing a 3-match-ban for an incident during the game. Brighton have a tough run of fixtures ahead so its probably best to avoid their players for the time being.

Newcastle were disappointing in this one and they face a tough test against Liverpool on Sunday.

Goalscorer: Hemed

Assist: Stephens

Yellow Cards: Duffy, Knockaert, Lascelles

Arsenal 2-0 West Brom

Alexandre Lacazette bagged a brace in the Monday Night Football to bring his tally to four for the season. The Gunners have kept three clean sheets on the bounce. We mentioned Sead Kolasinac as a ‘Must Have’ for GW6 and he returned the clean sheet points. Alexis Sanchez started the game and got his first assist of the season while Aaron Ramsey got his second.

Goalscorers: Lacazette (2)

Assists: Sanchez, Ramsey

Yellow Cards: Sanchez, Nyom, Evans, Dawson, Krychowiak
