Back In For Bacca And A Big North London Derby Injury Blow

Bacca interest

Arsenal are interested in AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca according to reports. The Colombian has not been a first-team regular for Milan and Arsenal have renewed their interest. The 30-year-old has scored 13 goals this season.

Koscielny injured

Laurent Koscielny looks set to miss the weekend’s North London Derby after picking up an injury in the later stages of the match against Leicester City. The Frenchman finished the match after receiving treatment but, it is not known how long he could possibly be out for. Koscielny jarred his knee in the final minutes of the match. With Shkodran Mustafi also out injured Arsenal now have a shortage of centre-backs for the game if they continue with the successful three at the back.

Ospina sold?

According to reports, Arsenal have now agreed to sell goalkeeper David Ospina to Turkish side Fenerbahce for £6m in the summer. Ospina has grown frustrated at his lack of first-team football and only being back up goalkeeper in Premier League matches.

Bender target

Arsenal according to reports are also weighing up an offer for German midfielder Sven Bender. Bender can play as a holding midfield player or at centre back and manager Arsene Wenger sees the utility player as an ideal signing. The 27-year-old would be seen as a good fit in the centre of midfield with Arsenal struggling in that position.

Director of football

Arsenal’s need to employ a director of football has been brought to a head due to Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil both having contracts that expire in 12 months come the summer. The club are less than happy that they have been left so late and feel a director of football could take on that role to assist in contracts and transfers. With Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Aaron Ramsey and Kieran Gibbs also in the same situation in the summer the club hope that the new director of football would not allow a repeat of the contract issues.

Szczesny to Napoli

More reports in Italy surfacing this time with Wojciech Szczesny possible move to Italian side Napoli. Szczesny has played for rivals Roma in Serie A and has performed well in his spell at the club. It looks like the Polish international will be leaving Arsenal in the summer.

Bellerin confident

Hector Bellerin claims the Arsenal squad are now more confident and are ready to derail Tottenham’s Premier League challenge. Bellerin feels Arsenal now have a good spirit and good energy which they can take forward to the north London Derby this weekend.
