The Honda Civic FK8 Type R is the first turbocharged Type R to come to the US, and when it finally landed, enthusiasts absolutely fell in love with it. It has a ton of power, no torque steer, great handling, and polarizing looks. It didn’t take long before aftermarket companies got their hands on one and started developing cool new parts for it. One of those companies is aFe Power, who just finished their Stage 1 suspension package and now it’s available through Vivid Racing!
This Stage 1 suspension package consists of finely tuned lowering springs, Sway Bars, and sway bar bushings. The springs have been designed to give the car a slightly more aggressive look with slightly better springs rates, helping the car handle better without making it awful for daily driving. With these springs you can expect your FK8 Type R to be lowered by about 7/8” (22mm) at all four corners.
The slightly larger sway bars will help decrease body roll during those hard corners. Keeping all four wheels planted on the ground helps keep the car stable, increasing driver confidence and decreasing those lap times. The sway bars come with all new polyurethane bushings which are much stronger than the OEM bushings.
