World Set Right by Transforming Ourselves

“In the divine world, when you give something from yourself, you acquire. Every good deed that you have made, it is you who will try out the fruits first. …
“All people are created to be good, but not all are good. All people are created to be rich, but not all are. People are created to be healthy, but not all are. The reason is in themselves.
“When will the world be set right? When love becomes the master, when compassion becomes the master, when greed the servant, and fear the servant, then the world will be set right.” ~Biensa Douno

Give Yourself

When you give of yourself, your talents, your knowledge, even just your time, you Benefit others. But you benefit yourself as well. Not that it should be your motivation for doing good. You should do good because you want to. You should do good because when we all work for the benefit of each other, the world grows and improves. When we work with the idea of benefiting ourselves, we often end up doing things that harm others. And when we harm others, we build up a karmic debt that must eventually be paid.

Also, helping others is a two way street. We sometimes here people say that others never help them. They use that as an excuse to not help others. But while some others may not be helping them, others are in ways they may not even be aware of. When spiritual and religious people pray for the world to be saved, they benefit others who are not aware they have received that benefit. When we send out thoughts of love, peace, and harmony into the world we benefit others who do not know it. So we should never decide how much we should help others based on how much they are helping us, because others are often helping us in ways we don’t know.

In order to have a world set right, we have to help others as much as we reasonably can.

Good, Rich, and Healthy

Douno says we were all created to be good, rich, and healthy. I agree with that, but only if you narrow down what is meant by “rich”. It should be obvious to anyone capable of thinking that we cannot all be monetarily “wealthy”. By definition, the wealthy must have considerably more than the average person. If we were all wealthy, that requirement would not be met.

I believe what Mr. Douno means is that we are all meant to live in reasonable comfort and abundance. None of us should be going hungry or lacking clothing. None of us should be living under bridges or on park benches. But when a small number of people live in great wealth, their greed means that other must do without.

It is true that we are meant to be good and healthy. But we must chose to act sensibly to make that happen. We can’t eat garbage and refuse to exercise and expect to be healthy. We can’t do evil deeds and still be good. In order to have a world set right, we have to control our urges.

A World Set Right

Douno says the world  set right will happen when we let love be the master, hate and greed the servants. That is true, but how to make that happen is the question of the ages.

The answer is actually simple. We have to awaken our dormant spiritual faculties. Then once awakened, develop them to the point where they run our lives. The soul must control the ego, not the other way around. We awaken those faculties with the Divine Light of God, which come to us through the channel of the spiritual sun.
