Looking for something quick to make but healthy for the kids now they’re back at school?  These delicious chocolate peanut butter snack bars are likely to go down a storm with the little ones whether they need something filling to kick-start their day or as a tasty afternoon treat you can slip into their lunchbox.  For families on the go these are no hassle at all and might even be an activity the children want to get involved in too!

To make these scrumptious snacks, read on for the recipe…

Ingredients

(most of these are in our 3 for 2 offer, available throughout August!)

  • 1 ½ cups of porridge oats
  • ¼ cup of milled flaxseed
  • ⅛ cup of chia seeds
  • ¼ cup of sunflower seeds
  • ¼ cup of sesame seeds
  • ⅓ cup of pumpkin seeds
  • ½ cup of cashews
  • ½ cup of almonds
  • ½ cup of agave nectar
  • 1 cup natural peanut butter
  • ½ cup of chocolate chips

Method

  1. Line an 8×8 inch baking dish or tray with greaseproof paper
  2. In a large bowl mix together the oats, seeds and nuts
  3. Put the agave nectar in the bowl and stir well
  4. Add the peanut butter to the bowl and mix until everything is combined
  5. Spoon the mixture in to the baking dish or tray and spread evenly
  6. Leave the mixture overnight in the fridge, then in then in the morning cut in to bars
