INTRODUCTION
ENTER THE DRAGON
Welcome to our Forsining Dragon Mechanical Watch review. Forsining is a Chinese watchmaker established in 2014, and within just a short span of a couple of years, they already have quite a line up of affordable watches.
Despite having some controversies of similar watch designs with certain designer brands, Forsining is still a seemingly popular brand on the Internet. As curiosity took over, we decided to pick up a rather… distinct watch to review and see if Forsining lives up to expectations.

SECTION A
UNBOXING & FIRST IMPRESSIONS
The watch came in a simple black paper box with the Forsining logo printed on it. Nothing else. While this may not be the most impressive packaging in the world, some cheap Chinese watches don’t even have one, so we consider this to a be a small plus…
Inside the box are just the watch, some foam, and the manual. Nothing glorious, but at least it adds decent protection for the shipping. Apart from that, there really isn’t anything exciting. A small bummer, as a small cleaning cloth or extra straps could have spiced up the entire packaging.
SECTION B
BUILD & ERGONOMICS
The packaging sure lacks the punch, but how does the watch itself fare? Will this be a Dragon of the east or another dubious watch of the east?
THE DESIGN
The watch face has an embossed dragon in it… and a Chinese one at that. Well, not a huge fan of wingless dragons, but maybe some people will appreciate this as art. The details are quite amazing either way. One thing we did not really like is how the watch hands almost “disappearing” into the busy background, making it hard to read the time.
BUILD QUALITY & WATCH MOVEMENT
Feels rather rugged and solid in hand. Shook it, and turned the knob to wind the spring. It just works and nothing fell apart. Being a Chinese made watch, it is most probably adopting the Chinese Standard Movement or “Tongji” (统机).
Some experts would have a lot of things to say about this, but as simple watch lovers, we don’t have any issues with it – The quality of Chinese standard movement has been improving over the years. As long as it does not self-destruct and fall apart, we are cool with it. Do take note that this is still mechanical, and there is a slight inaccuracy over time.
As for the watch glass, it is just… plain glass. Even though it seems pretty sturdy, this watch is not waterproof. Keep it away from moisture.
STRAPS
The part that we least like about this watch is the leather straps with patterns embossed on it. Yes, it is probably PU (faux) leather as there are no visible grains nor the “genuine leather smell”. They are known to self-disintegrate rather quickly over time… Although you can always replace it easily.

SECTION D
CONCLUSION
This watch has some obvious design flaws and cheap straps. But overall, it is not that bad. It works, and it has decently good build quality… Who knows, people who love eastern dragons are going to love this watch. At least this dragon does not burn a hole in your pocket.

- Pretty good build and quality.
- Value for money.
- Some people will like the design?
THE BAD
- Design hiccups.
- Not waterproof.
- Bad leather straps.
