Pakistan is struggling to develop and install a system to block all kinds of smartphones that are either stolen or lost. A similar attempt was made in 2008/09 under the supervision of Dr. Yasin. Though, it was unsuccessful due the fact that the system employed back then only used IMEI numbers for blocking a cellphone. As IMEI numbers can be altered easily by means of software, the system collapsed and it failed before the deployment even took place.
