We took on a new client this week who actually has decent Rankings on several of their key terms. One major concern of the client was that we not lose his current search engine rankings. That's a fair request and we assured him we wouldn't do anything to his site that would lose his rankings unless of course there was a change to one of the engines algo that would effect his site. So how can we be sure that our work won't hurt his rankings? We can't be 100% sure, no one can, however we can feel very confident that we won't have a negative impact on their rankings because the techniques we employ are tried and true and are listed as steps to take to optimize by the search engines themselves.

1. Create good meta tags that accurately describe your service or information that is listed on the page it is placed
2. Have good relevant content relating to the page and the meta tags you created
3. Have good anchor links to allow engines to spider the page and the entire site
4. Have good links pointing to your site that are relevant to the site

By employing these basic steps we will feel very comfortable that our new client will not only keep his existing rankings but gain new ones and lot's of them.

Here's what we'll do, once this campaign is finished and we've begun the ongoing maintenance of this site, we'll post a follow up to show the results of our efforts and the clients satisfaction level.
