This Video shows you, how to setup your Amazon Product Advertising Api Access. This API is very usefull for Mobile Apps, or for Webpages to notice your Customer Amazon Products, and get commissions for it. In the comment below this Video, I paste some links. First you have to know: You must register for Amazon Associates before you register as a Product Advertising API developer. If you make a request with an invalid Associate ID, the Product Advertising API returns an error. So we take the first Step! Look at the commet of this Video and click the Link: Become an Associate. Follow the steps you see there and come back. Second Step: Now you need an A.W.S. - Account, because there you'll get the Access Key ID and the Secret Access Key, you need to use the API. Have a look at the comment below this Video. Click at the Link: Register A.W.S. Login if you still have an Account, or run through the Registration process and login after finishd.
If you still have a A.W.S. account with an Identity and Access Management (I.A.M.) you need to know, that the Product Advertising Api is only accessable by the A.W.S. Rootaccount . Not by the I.A.M Account. Here a hint, how you can be sure, to login as Root and not as I.A.M. . If your Login Page looks like this (with 3 Fields where the first field is named "Account"), you're at the I.A.M.- Login page. In this case press the textlink below the "Sign In" Button to Sign In as root. If you signed in as root, your Panel looks like this. Now you click on your Username in the upper right corner, and choose security_credential Confirm the Popup to Continue to Security Credentials (don't click at the I.A.M. Button) Open the Access Keys Accordion and you see your accesskey. If you don't have the Secret Access Key, you have to delete the current key and create a new one. Be aware to notice the Secret Access Key, because this appears only once. Now you've done and can use the Product Advertising API. To give it a try, you can use the a.w.s. scratch pad. Open the link named : AWS ScratchPad, and create an API request. Choose a Marketplace at the top, which fits your country. Choose Associate Tag. This Tag is simmlar to your Tracking ID, you've created in the Amazon Associates (or Amazon Partner Net) After this, you can enter the Access Key ID and Secret Access Key. Below in the section "ItemSearch" you can create your first request. We choose the following: Searchindex: Kitchen, Keywords: knife) and press the button "Run request".
