Even branded with the name ‘Eton of the East’, Mayo was under the meticulous management of Government of India till 1931 and was founded to assure best education for the sons of aristocracy of India. With India gaining independence, Mayo was handed over to General Council of the College and from there on, college is a place open for all those who wish to teach their boys with a boarding facility.
