Honorable Mayor, Smt. Dr. Swati Godbole and renowned Paediatrician Dr. Avyact Agrawal speak about teaching our kids the 21st century skills
Jabalpur, 26 March, 2017: With the world moving away from an industrial age to the age of information and knowledge, our education system also must transform in ways that will facilitate kids to acquire the 21st century skills of communication, creative thinking, problem-solving and collaboration, skills that they will need to be successful in work and life. Raising awareness about these key early childhood development skills, Sesame Street Preschool, Jabalpur today organised an illuminating talk by Honorable Mayor of Jabalpur, Smt. Dr. Swati Godbole and renowned Paediatrician Dr. Avyact Agrawal. The day also witnessed some fun-filled activities for children like ‘Little Scientist’ and ‘Dress Your Dream’ zone, photo booth with Sesame Street characters and some outdoor games.
Speaking at the event, Smt. Dr. Swati Godbole, Honorable Mayor of Jabalpur shared, “The way we consume information has changed over years. People are moving to online means to search for whatever they need to know, whether it is news or places to visit or to eat. In these dynamic times, the way kids learn is also changing. They are learning through new technology, be it mobile phones, internet, games or TV. But what is it that they are learning is critical and of utmost importance. In order to flourish with the growing trends, it’s critical that we teach our young kids not just the ABCs and 123s, but also the 21st century skills of communication, collaboration and creative thinking.
