New Delhi: President Pranab Mukherjee, on Wednesday, distributed the National Film Awards to the celebs during a glittering ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan here. Akshay Kumar was honoured with the best actor award for ‘Rustom’ while Sonam Kapoor received a special mention for her role in ‘Neerja’.
The ‘Baby’ star was accompanied by his wife Twinkle Khanna and son Aarav. The Khiladi Kumar shared his photo on a micro blogging site receiving the award from the President along with a caption which read , “No words can do justice to the joy I feel at this moment…sharing with you all my first ever #NationalFilmAward!Thank you for the love 🙏🏻”
The ecstatic Sonam Kapoor was accompanied by her father and Bollywood veteran Anil Kapoor and her boyfriend Anand Ahuja.
Sonam, after receiving the honour, said, “These things make me really shy and sometimes awkward. I am ecstatic with the best Hindi Film Award and for the special mention but I can’t take the credit for it solely. It is such a happy occasion and i am overwhelmed for Neerja being considered for the National Film Award.”
