The Dakar 2019 rally proved to be every bit as epic and dramatic as anyone could have hoped. From the terrible disappointment of mechanical failures for Ricky Brabec and Adrien Van Beveren when so close to victory, to the astounding grit and determination of Toby Price Riding through intense pain to secure the win.
And the event was not without it’s controversy, mostly surrounding the whole route being contained within Peru rather than crossing borders into other countries and of course the insane amount of dune riding within the route.
But for us the shot that defined the spirit of Dakar was Toby Price stopping to check on Pablo Quintanilla after the crash that would prevent him challenging for the win in the final stage. Top sportsmanship from a top rider.
Here’s the film – enjoy!
