We know the idea of travelling with children can be a daunting prospect, but we’ve got the top tips to help you plan the perfect family trip.

Brussels, Belgium
Getting there:
It takes just over an hour to fly to Brussels from London, averaging about £100 return. You can also catch the Eurostar which takes just over 2 hours and prices start from £30 one way.
Accommodation:
On average the costs vary between £65 for a 3-Star Hotel and £110 for a 5-star hotel.
Things to do:
Famous for its amazing chocolate, there is a museum dedicated to the treat, ‘The Choco Story’ Open between Tuesday and Sunday, 10am until 5pm. Entry is €6 and they have live chocolate making sessions as well as an exhibition of the cocoa bean. Obviously, you are able to sample the goods at the end too!
There is also the Comic Art Museum, Open Monday- Sunday between 10am until 6pm. Costing €10, they will have the chance to look at the origin of comic strips as well as other exhibitions.
The Museum of Natural Sciences houses the largest collection of dinosaurs in Europe, as well as all things science and nature. Open Tuesday until Sunday from 9.30am until 5pm. Adults cost €9.50 and kids €7. If you visit on the first Wednesday of every month after 1pm, admission is free!
Berlin, Germany
Getting there:
It takes just under 2 hours to fly to Berlin costing on average about £80.
Accommodation:
Costs on average between £60 for a 3-star hotel and £120 for a 5-star hotel.
Things to do:
This is great for older kids as well as younger kids with a lot to see including Checkpoint Charlie, The Berlin Wall and the Holocaust Memorial.
The Museum of Gaming, open daily from 10am until 8pm and for a family ticket costs €19. This is perfect for any gamers in the family!
Berlin Zoo is the home to the world’s largest variety of species and a must see if you are there. Open 365 days of the year, between 9am-4.30/6 pm depending on the season. For a family ticket, it costs €41 for the Zoo or €51 for the Zoo and Aquarium.
Lego Discoveryland is a must see. Over 364 days of the year between 10am until 7pm. It costs €10.50 pp if booking online. You can also pay for 2 of more attractions throughout Berlin (a bit like London) which start at €20 per child and €24 per adult.
Copenhagen, Denmark
Getting there:
Travelling to the capital of Denmark takes just under two hours to fly from London, and costs on average about £50.
Accommodation:
Ranges from £90 for a 3-star hotel to £160 for a 5-star hotel.
Things to do:
The good thing about Copenhagen is that it’s rather compact, which means the kids won’t be too tired walking around.
Bakken is the world’s oldest amusement park and is 431 years old. Filled with rides, bars, restaurants and entertainment it’s one not to be missed. Opening again on 23rd March this year, opening hours can differ so is best to check before travelling. Tickets are cheaper online and range in price depending on whether you wish to take part in any entertainment etc.
Go hunting for the six wooden giants in the woods of Copenhagen’s suburbs! A free activity and great for kids who love a treasure hunt!
