Expand your OFFLINE Social Network when traveling alone; business trips, concerts, festivals, events and commuting.

There are many marketing firms out there advising and some provide great information on how to promote and increase your presence across one or multiple social networks. But what about increasing your ‘offline’ network? What about just making the daily grind more interesting and meeting new people?
Sociocean.com is a website (and app) that promotes the growth of your ‘offline’ network even if it’s just for fleeting moments of your life. Just to clarify, an ‘offline’ network is people you communicate with in ‘real life’; friend’s colleagues and associates. The concept is simple. Initially aimed at the business community, specifically those who commute or travel regularly with their work, it's expanded based on user demand to include other places where you may travel alone and look for social interaction, such as festivals, concerts or other events. The Sociocean team have developed a brand, a simple logo — that means something.
Here’s how it works…
How many times have you sat on a train, surrounded by people, or likewise at an airport terminal, or when on a business trip you’ve ended up sitting or eating alone in a different town or even country? Most people would be able to relate to this, however for some people it happens every week, if not every day. Have you ever thought you’d like to have a conversation or some level of communication with those around you when in these situations? Again, most people would say ‘yes’ to this at some point. So, the problem is then, how do you know who else in the train carriage, airport terminal or hotel restaurant is as sociable as you? And this is where the brand comes in. With Sociocean you just ‘look for the logo’, which is apparently only ‘for those in the know’. They provide a variety of merchandise, the cheaper and ‘starter’ option is simply a badge or pin which you can obviously put on prior to your commute depending on how sociable you feel. There are also polo shirts, bags and wallets all of which display the Sociocean logo. If you spot a fellow Sociocean member then it simply means they are sociable, probably bored and more than happy to have a conversation. The fact they are sporting the Sociocean logo also means a simple way to start the conversation…’I see you’re sociable too!’
There is (perhaps bizarrely) an online social network too although the onus is on meeting ‘offline’. It’s totally and allows you to create or join groups and meetups and of course buy the products that bear the logo. Recent functionality updates allows you to see how far away the nearest member is from you and you can communicate and chat through the website before meeting.
Sociocean also supports Autism charities. Every item sold results in a donation.
