Updpdate: Microsoft has announced systems are working properly now.
Update: Xbox Live’s core services and purchase and content usage are now working normally again, according to the official Xbox Live status page and support Twitter account.
“Thanks everyone for your patience w/ sign-in issues today. Things should be looking much better, but we’ll continue to help out,” a new tweet reads.
Xbox Live services were experiencing issues for a large part of the day, including preventing users from signing in or downloading purchased items.

Xbox Live is currently experiencing issues affecting account sign ins and purchase-related systems.
The Xbox Support website currently lists the limited availability of Xbox Live Core Services and Purchase and Content Usage, which affects Xbox One, Xbox 360, Xbox on Windows 10, and Xbox on other devices.
“Our engineers and developers are actively continuing to work to resolve the issue causing some members to have problems finding previously-purchased content or purchasing new content,” the latest update reads.
The services affected for Xbox Live are the ability to sign in and buy downloadable items. Other services are operating normally, according to the Xbox Support site, however.
“We are aware that some users are experiencing difficulties signing in to some services. Engineers are working to fully resolve this as soon as possible,” a Microsoft spokesperson told IGN in a statement.
