Time to spruce up your deck

Spring is here…

How did your Deck survive the winter?  Now is a good time to start thinking about getting it cleaned up.  We have everything you need to get the job done, right here at our own retail store.  Depending on the condition of your deck, we have a range of products and procedures to get that deck into shape again.

If your deck is just showing some slight graying or blackness from mildew, Restore-X Deck Cleaner will do the trick.  Just lightly wet the deck down, roll on the Deck Cleaner and let it do the work for you.  After 20 minutes, wash the Deck Cleaner off, and let the deck sit for 3 to 5 days of decent sun to let the wood dry.  Then apply our 02C series Penetrating Wood Deck finish to protect and beautify.

Deck in rougher condition, no problem.  You can use our Restore-X Exterior Finish Remover.  This product will penetrate the wood and strip the surface.  Just lightly wet the deck, and roll on the Finish Remover.  Relax, and wait for the product to do the hard work for you.  After 20 – 30 minutes, agitate a small area to see if the deck is ready to wash.  If not, wait another 10 minutes and re-check.  When the stripper has done its job, simply wash the deck off with a garden hose.  For more stubborn decks, you can use a pressure washer to wash the Finish Remover off.  Now you are ready to let the deck dry out for 3 to 5 decent sunny days.  Apply our 02C series Penetrating Wood Deck Finish to protect and beautify.

We also have a product in the Restore-X product line called Wood Brightener.  After using the Deck Cleaner, or the Finish Remover, and prior to applying the 02C finish, you would simply roll the Wood Brightener on to the deck and let it sit for about 20 minutes.  During this time you will see the wood noticeably lighten in color.

To give your deck the best “barefoot” smooth finish, try our rental deck sander.  Just be sure your nails and/or screws are knocked down prior to sanding.  An edge sticking up can tear up the paper.

If you have more questions, please feel free to come to our professionals in our retail store for specific advise on your project.
