Bridge:
- A bridge goes one step up on a Hub, in that it review the destination of the packet before sending. If the destination Address is not on the other side of the bridge it will not transmit the data.
- A Bridge is more complex than hub.
- A Bridge maintains a MAC (Media Access control) address table for both LAN segments it is connected to.
- Bridge has a single incoming and outgoing port.
- Bridge filters traffic on the LAN by looking at the Mac Address.
- Bridge are used to separate parts of a networks that do not need to communicate regularly, but need to be connected.
- If A Sends a Frame to E, The Frame must be forwarded by the bridge.
- If A sends a Frame to B, Here is no reason to forward the Frame by Bridge.
