The first trailer for Ready Player One was released at the San Diego Comic-Con. Now the second has dropped.
The Movie, based on the book Ready Player One by Ray Cline, has a lot to live up to. The book is fantastic and really a mind-expanding story of life as it might be in the near future, including plenty of lessons of things humanity should avoid (yes it is a dystopian world). The stories and characters in the book are full of drama and action and heroes and bad guys. But they are also full of ethical discussion and thought provoking, mind expanding challenges.
There are horrid parts to the ugly future in the movie, but lots of bright points too. Imagine a world where virtual reality and global connectivity enables universal access to high quality education. Incredible. Awesome. And achievable by us if we put our minds to it. Wonderful vision.
