The popular PC American media narrative is that Islamophobia is a problem that needs to be addressed in the USA. So they dutifully publicize every possible incident that may be characterized as ‘anti-Muslim’ anywhere in the country.

But what about Anti-Semitism? There are twice as many actual incidents against Jews in this country:

But how newsworthy is this anti-Muslim wave in the United States when compared to similar crimes against Jews? The actual numbers do not matter. In its 2015 "hate crime" statistics, the FBI reported some 664 anti-Semitic incidents and 257 anti-Muslim incidents. Those are crimes, not speeches.

Even more poignant, what about Muslim leaders and imams in America calling for the complete destruction of the Jewish people? The major media continues to be silent about the on-going anti-Semitism in the American Muslim community:

… a California imam named Ammar Shahin at the Islamic Center of Davis, right across the street from the University of California, Davis. Shahin, speaking in English and Arabic, prayed to Allah to "liberate the Al-Aqsa Mosque" in Jerusalem "from the filth of the Jews." And he added: "annihilate them down to the very last one. Do not spare any of them."

…And:

a sermon on the same day by Mahmoud Harmoush, the imam at the Islamic Center of Riverside — surprise, located near the University of California, Riverside — in which he alleged that the land of Palestine was stolen from Muslims through "killing and crime and massacres," and that Jews are now attempting to extend the conflict to "most of the Middle East." He ended his prayer by calling to Allah; as translated by MEMRI, he said: "destroy them … rend them asunder. Turn them into booty in the hands of the Muslims."

Response: Ironically both imams quoted above have been characterized as ‘victims’ of Islamophobia in the past. We are only calling for the full truth to be presented and not withheld.

In the past, we have written about the growing problem of Anti-Semitism on colleges campuses across America mostly perpetrated by American Muslim students. The Media has also been substantially silent about that trend.

The fact is that there are many passages in the Muslim Quran that are obviously against Jews and Christians. Imams need to be more careful how those are taught, interpreted, and put into action if they expect and demand more respect for their own religion. For example, since the Holocaust American Christian pastors have tried to do a better job interpreting Bible verses that have been used against Jewish folk in the past.

Regardless, the persecution and the mistreatment of Muslims and Jews should not be tolerated in America even when it is coming from supposed victims.  Also it is past time for the American Media to present the whole truth all of the time even when it challenges their cherished PC narratives.              *Top
