“From of old no one has heard or perceived by the ear, no eye has seen a God besides you, who acts for those who wait for him.” Isaiah 64:4 (ESV)
We know that long before the time of the Prophet Isaiah there were people who were worshiping other things beside the one true God. They were worshiping logs, stones, sky and sea and other false gods. They were rejecting and refusing to worship their creator who is the only God that lives. Our verse from Isaiah's prophesies tells us how our God proves that He is the True One. He proves it by what He does for those who trust Him. Our God acts on our behalf. He acts for our benefit when we look to Him for help and expect it from Him. So, isn't that what we have experienced? We have looked to our God and He has helped us. In this way He has proved to us that He is true, just as the prophet said in our verse. There is only one God who acts for those who call on Him and wait for Him. Those who call on gods that do not exists do not receive help. It is our promise that our God will and does and we can trust Him to. He is the only true living God there is.
