It’s very difficult to look into the eyes of a hungry child and it’s equally as difficult to look into the faces of mothers and fathers when you know they may very well have to tell their children that there isn’t any Food in the house to put on their dinner table that evening. We believe that this situation should never have to occur.

Squash Patch Farm Ministry is a ministry of Word of Life church in Chino Valley, AZ. Our goal and mission is to help feed the hungry as directed by our Lord in Matt. 25:35-40. Our primary focus is helping put food on the tables of those in need in our community.
Being hungry is the greatest thief. More than depriving a person or family of food, it steals away hope. While other thieves may take away the past and physical things, hunger steals the future, self-respect and dignity.
Our mission is to not only feed the body but feed the soul and spirit by restoring a God given human dignity. Through voluntary efforts and contributions we give back the hope, the future, the self-respect, which all God’s people need and deserve.
Ours is a Christian ministry that welcomes all people of all faiths. We give witness to God’s saving love and prophetic power by loving neighbors, seeking justice, empowering the least among us, and renewing the Church’s social ministry.
Our Lord served people in a one-on-one basis. Everyone He came in contact with was important to him. Jesus was and still is today interested in establishing a personal relationship with that person. The help we provide is given with a personal touch -- from person to person.
We see this work as an expression of our commitment to Christ, who says that what we do for the least of our neighbors, we do for Him.
We strive to accomplish this through various programs. Through the donations and contributions of our supporters we maintain our regular Food Bank which is available to individuals and families in need. We call this element of our ministry the Food Connect Program.
As a supplement to our Food Connect Program we weekly hold a Fresh Produce Distribution Day which provides fresh nutritious produce to those we serve weekly when fresh
produce is in season and we also maintain our own small farm which provides additional fresh produce as a supplement to the fresh produce donated by others.
Our ministry is totally supported by the donations and contributions of those who believe as we do that no one in our community should ever go to bed hungry.
Like many Food Assistance programs we annually hold a Food Drive to help keep our shelves full. This Food Drive helps round out what is needed and make items that often are not donated on a regular basis available for distribution.
Working together we can help restore Hope and give those we serve back the Self-respect and Dignity that has been stolen from them.
